" While you have the light, believe in the light... "

- John 12:36a

Basic Bible

(Hint: Christianity is simple. Just believe!)

Faith is just believing what Jesus said. It's trust. Jesus is looking for people to trust Him more than they trust anything or anyone else. But faith has to turn into action, or you really don't believe.

When you want to sit down, you generally don't worry about the chair collapsing on you. You do it naturally: you put your faith in the chair. A lot of people say they believe in Jesus, but don't really trust His words. If someone is not interested enough to learn about Him, consider what He says, and put it into action in the real world, that person is not being very faithful.

In the Gospels, Jesus almost always does miracles when He sees faith in people. When He does the miracles, it adds to their faith. And Jesus is still alive, so He pays attention to people that pay attention to Him.

It's important to find a good Bible-honoring church, but even more important to know the Bible for yourself. You can buy a study Bible in print or read it on almost any electronic device for free, or just find an MP3 version and listen while driving or doing chores. That's how I learned most of His Word. Remember, all you need is faith:

"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

- Romans 10:17
