" While you have the light, believe in the light... "

- John 12:36a

About WordLight

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12).

I used to think the Bible was just a bunch of old words, written for a different time. But as I began to understand that Jesus is actually God (John1:1, 14), and He can look through time to see how His Word actually bears fruit today, it's simple for Him to write things down correctly from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). That means He really understands me and you, and knows how to get us out of any problems we might be facing.

I pity anyone that tries to live this life without the Light of God’s Word. I tried to be an atheist once, but it was a disaster. Everyone could see I was being selfish, and I had issues that even I didn’t like. I knew that psychiatrists were groping in the dark (Job 12:25), and were getting paid to just let me figure it out. It's frightening to be in a dark room with an Enemy that can see you clearly. But the solution is simple. Just turn on the Light.

I know how much God has loved me, and wants me to understand. I know He loves you the same way (John 3:16), and that you will find these words helpful and powerful for living in the Kingdom of Heaven today (Matthew 5:3-10).

Many churches want us to trust the interpretation of their leaders, but God wants us to know His Word for ourselves (Psalm 119:105, Matthew 4:4, Matthew 7:24, Luke 11:27-28, John 7:38, Acts 17:10-12… ). Too often, they rely on doctrines easily traced back to obvious heresy (Revelation 2-3). I encourage you to learn what you can from a good Bible-believing church and stay in fellowship, but these pages will fill in some of the important ideas that are often avoided (e.g. Proverbs 1:7).

On WordLight, hopefully you will recognize the solid rock foundation that Jesus spoke of (Matthew 7:25). There is a page on “Basic Bible” and another on “How Do I Get Saved?,” but the rest of these pages attempt to answer “What does the Bible say about _____?” They are both for Christians and Non-Christians, and reveal a marvelous world of understanding, peace, love and hope.

WordLight holds a very high view of the Bible. The Bible is a miracle, and the only religious scripture that accurately predicts the future. On WordLight, Bible references are spelled out completely, so they don't look like "code." Neither do I use Bible translation acronyms (e.g. KJV for King James Version; if there is any question, please just Google the verse). These pages are written in the simplest language possible, and Bible lingo is minimized. To make things plain for those that know a few things about the Bible, here are the Biblically-based principles that guide these pages:

  • The Bible is trustworthy (Numbers 23:19, Psalm 19:1-11, 2 Timothy 3:16 etc.)

  • Humanity is not basically good (Jeremiah 17:9), but with the help of God's Grace, we have Free Will to choose good from evil (Genesis 3:6, Genesis15:6, Deuteronomy 30:15, John 3:16 etc.)

  • Salvation is by grace through the faith of the believer, leading to good works (Ephesians 2:8-10 etc.)

  • Heaven is a reward and hell is a warning (Luke 12:4-7 etc.)

  • The Gifts of the Spirit are important but not necessary for salvation (Luke 23:43 etc.)

  • Young Earth Creationism is a deception that has led to science-denial, but is prophetic Spiritually (1 Timothy 2:14,  etc.)

  • Christian politics should reflect Biblical morality (Romans 13, Galatians 5:13-26 etc.)

  • The Bible proclaims a Pre-Tribulation Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

  • The Greatest Commandment is love (Matthew 22:36-39 etc.)

Pick any topic that interests you. I know these pages will help you become as blessed as I am.
